Junglia is unlike any theme park Japan has seen before. Most Japanese theme parks are urban — Junglia is built in, and around, one of Japan's most spectacular natural environments. The Yanbaru region of northern Okinawa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to endemic species found nowhere else on earth, and the park has been designed to use the landscape itself as its greatest attraction.
The Dinosaur Safari is the showstopper. Visitors board an off-road armoured vehicle and navigate a 17-minute journey through a jungle habitat populated by animatronic dinosaurs — 20 specimens including a 19-metre Brachiosaurus, Stegosaurus, and Triceratops, culminating in a tense encounter with a charging T. rex.
