Detailed Description
Travel by bus to the vibrant Fener/Balat district, one of Istanbul's oldest neighborhoods and once home to Ottoman Orthodox and Jewish residents. See traces of Ottoman life, all standing together and demonstrating the Ottoman Empire's multicultural and religious ways. Continue along the historic Byzantine city walls, which date back to the 4th century A.D. and Constantine the Great's reign.
Visit the historic Eyüp mosque complex, a sacred site where pilgrims come to visit mosques and Muslim saints' tombs. From here, take a short cable car ride up to the famous Pierre Loti Café, a popular local hangout. Return to Eyüp to catch the local ferry for a cruise on the Golden Horn's blue waters.
