About The Quintessence of Tonkin Show Ticket in Hanoi
An outdoor spectacle that has been going on for over ten years, The Quintessence of Tonkin show is performed entirely over a water stage by over 250 artists. The show aims to showcase the highlights of Red River Delta Region of Vietnam using stunning water puppetry, and amazing music and performances.
The show tells the story of the founding of the Thay Pagoda, by the monk Tu Dao Hanh. This merges six different aspects of the culture - Poetry, Buddhism, Nostalgia, Music and Painting, Joy and Festivities.
The opening scenes of the show is inspired by the poetry of Nguyen Khuyen, Tat Nuoc Dau Dinh, a folk song, and the lullaby of Tonkin. It also focuses on the story of the monk who founded the Thay Pagoda, Tu Daon Hanh. He was the one who taught the locals the art of water puppetry. The inspiration of the poet Ho Xuan Huong can also be seen during the show. The show concludes with a representation of the people's religious beliefs and festivities across time.
With over 250 artists and beautiful performances, the show will leave a lasting mark and be one of the best memories you had in the country of Vietnam.
