There are tons of options out there when it comes to water sports to do as a couple. Some are daring and adventurous, while others, not so much. Some need a bit of athletic expertise, while some don’t have any prerequisites whatsoever. Here are the top five water activities for couples which include everything ranging from dare devilish to calming ones.
1. Jet Skiing
Are you up for something that is not just adventurous but borderline daring? Then I suggest jet skiing. It is an absolute gem when it comes to water sports and can be an excellent choice if you want to do something special with your partner. If speed is something you find exciting, then jet skiing will give you that and more. The personal watercraft, also known as the jet ski, will be provided to you, which you can maneuver easily if you listen to the instructions of the guide correctly. The sea is your runway, so make the most of this opportunity by living your wildest dreams! There are tandem jet skis specially designed for couples, which are available on many beaches. It allows you and your partner to share not just the experience but also the waterboard. Jet skiing in the waters is a sensory experience as much as it is a physical one. Best of both worlds!
2. Kayaking
If you prefer something a bit less action-packed and a bit more serene, then kayaking can be a perfect fit. It is not as daring and messy as jet skiing, and you can peacefully paddle through the aquatic realm with your partner at a pace you both set. It is also an excellent way for couples to connect with nature because the slow pace of the activity gives them time to appreciate the scenic wonders of the water. Depending on the aquatic landscape you have chosen, the experience will also definitely differ. Just like tandem waterboards, there are tandem kayaking options present for couples who wish to share the experience by kayaking together. Even if you have no prior paddling experience, with the right supervision from the guide, you will be able to get a hold of the activity in no time. And since it needs acute cooperation and coordination for kayaks to move forward when you paddle as a couple, it is a great activity for couples.
3. Snorkeling
Couples who love underwater more than the surface and the waves will find snorkeling a compelling and exciting water sport. Those of you who have been underwater know how absolutely breathtaking the world can be. It is a whole other universe in itself, and discovering its magic together as a couple seems to be a great thing to do. You will be donned with snorkels, fins, and suitable clothing. There will also be constant guidance and support from your snorkeling instructor, so there is nothing to be worried about. With the right set of equipment, observing the coral reefs, underwater caves, and colorful marine life becomes relatively easy. It is a pretty romantic experience if you think about it. So, if you and your partner are comfortable spending some time underwater, there is no better activity the two of you can do than snorkeling.
4. Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Do you consider yourself to be somewhat of an active person? What about your partner? If you believe you have a little bit of balance and control over your body, there is yet another fun water spot you can try out with your partner: Stand-Up Paddleboarding. SUP is usually done on calm waters, so basically, the whole thing is not hard to get a hold of. You have to stand on top of a large stable board and paddle by standing up rather than sitting up or lying down. Unlike the water sports activities we discussed before, this one you do side by side rather than on the same stable board. This makes it much more easy to maneuver as well. You can paddle side by side with your partner, all the while enjoying the scenery and mastering the balance of your body on the stable board. It is fun if you are up for it.
“Water is life’s matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.”
5. Parasailing
Now, this is a tad bit different from the pure water sports we discussed before. Parasailing is an aerial activity, but when done in an aquatic setting, it becomes much more adventurous and exciting. It is a highly daring activity and can be done easily as a couple. You can get a view of the sea or the waters from such an appealing angle that it takes the experience to a whole new level! You and your partner will be harnessed strongly to a parachute, which in itself will be tied to a boat. One minute, you are on land, and the other minute, you are soaring to the sky with the huge water mass below you. If this sounds like something you would like to do with your partner, then awesome!
